Trend Micro OfficeScan for home users
Note to dial-in users:
This installation is a lengthy process. Dial-in users should allow up
to 5+ hours to completely install Trend Micro Office Scan.
Installing Trend Micro OfficeScan for the home user requires three steps:
- Uninstalling Current Antivirus - This step MUST be completed before Trend Micro OfficeScan is installed.
Notes:
- Installing Trend Micro OfficeScan
- Updating OfficeScan
Uninstalling Antivirus
- Download removeSAV.exe.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the download.
- Double-click removeSAV.exe and then click OK.
- Click Overwrite and then click Start.

NOTE: If you use Symatec PC
Anywhere, Norton Ghost or any other Symantec product other than
antivirus, you will have to re-install Live Update. Once the OfficeScan

Installing Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0
- Download
- Unmanaged.exe for Windows Vista, XP, 2000.
- Unmanaged64.exe for 64-bit Windows.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the download and then, depending upon which version you downloaded, double-click Unmanaged.exe or Unmanaged64.exe to begin installation.
- A Trend Micro OfficeScan banner will appear, followed
by a Setup window. When the Setup window closes, Trend Micro OfficeScan
is installed.

Update Trend Micro OfficeScan
- Right click the OfficeScan icon located in bottom right hand corner of screen.
- Select Update Now
- A Trend Micro Window will appear. Click Update Now to initiate the update.
