K-State Trend Micro Implementation Options
Departments and Colleges at K-State can choose one of three options to manage Trend Micro. They can manage their own Trend Micro servers locally or use the centrally managed Trend Micro servers, but all locally managed environments are required to report back to the centrally managed servers. Option 1 - Local Managed and Local Reporting
- Departments/Colleges will support their own Trend Control Manager, ServerProtect, and OfficeScan servers. These products can be installed on one server or on separate servers.
- The local Control Manager will be installed as a child server under the central Control Manager parent server with ServerProtect and/or OfficeScan servers reporting to the local Control Manager child server.
- Information for System Administrators
Option 2 - Local Managed with Central Reporting
- Departments/Colleges will support their own Trend ServerProtect and/or Trend OfficeScan servers.
- Local ServerProtect and/or OfficeScan servers will report to the central Control Manager child server.
- Information for System Administrators
Option 3 - Central Managed and Central Reporting
- Departments/Colleges will use the central reporting and managed servers.
- Managed OfficeScan clients will be provided via website or central IT staff.
