Trend Micro OfficeScan for on-campus users
Installing the Managed Trend Micro OfficeScan client for the On-Campus user requires two steps:
- Uninstall Current Antivirus-Use Add or Remove Programs
- If using Symantc or Norton download the following tools to assist in program removal
- Install Trend Micro OfficeScan
Uninstalling Symantec Antivirus
- Download removeSAV.exe.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the download.
- Double-click removeSAV.exe and then click OK.
- Click Overwrite and then click Start.

NOTE: If you use Symatec
PC Anywhere, Norton Ghost or any other Symantec product other than
antivirus, you will have to re-install Live Update. Once the OfficeScan
installation is complete. Please visit http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sharedtech.nsf/docid/1999051911110813.
Install Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0
- Download
- Managed.exe for Windows Vista, XP, 2000.
- Managed64.exe for 64-bit Windows.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the download and then, depending upon which version you downloaded, double-click Managed.exe or managed64.exe to begin installation. Windows Vista users MUST right click and select Run as administrator for the installation to begin.
- A Trend Micro OfficeScan banner will appear, followed
by a Setup window. When the Setup window closes, Trend Micro OfficeScan
is installed.
Note: The installation could take 2-3 minutes to begin. Please be patient and do not click on the executable more then once. This will cause the installation to hang or to FAIL.

Update Trend Micro OfficeScan
- Right click the OfficeScan icon located in bottom right hand corner of screen.
- Select Update Now
- A Trend Micro Window will appear. Click Update Now to initiate the update.
